Try cooling off and relaxing with something a little different tonight - the Calming Chamomile and Blueberry Mocktail!

    Why mocktails?

Let me get a little personal for a minute. I LOVE having something to sip on, and sometimes I'm not in the mood for sparkling water and to be honest, alcohol doesn't leave me feeling great.

Functional mocktails have become my alcohol replacement. They promote better health, and don't leave me feeling like absolute garbage. Also, since I've quit drinking booze, my skin has never looked better!

Mocktails are a way more fun, flavorful alternative without the risks. So if you're looking to cut back or quit, I recommend trying functional mocktails.

    Why I made this mocktail?

First, obviously I’m not giving any medical advice or making any promises. But I think the name of this mocktail suits it perfectly! Chamomile, known for millennia as being a relaxing tea, is typically served hot. In a mug, with a little honey.

But today, we're not serving tea. We want something...else. Something a little fancier and more nuanced. However, we want to keep the functionality of the tea.

That's how this Calming Chamomile and Blueberry Mocktail was born!

    Ingredients + substitutions

Ingredients needed to make a vanilla and blueberry mocktail.

    Let’s discuss the ingredients…

    • Chamomile tea - I like to make this recipe using loose chamomile tea - this is the one I used. (Affiliated link). You can use loose leaf tea as well, or simply just use chamomile tea bags. I use those in a pinch!
    • Honey
    • Blueberry juice
    • Vanilla extract

    How to make it

Making this mocktail is so, so easy. You're simply going to follow a few simple steps and it should come together in less than 5 minutes.

    • Brew the chamomile tea and add the honey. Cool it to room temperature.
    • Fill a glass with ice and add the cooled chamomile tea and honey mixture.
    • Next add the blueberry juice.
    • Stir in the vanilla extract.

And that's it! You're ready to rock.

    Substituions

    • Honey - if you’d like to swap the honey for a sweetener of your choice, just make a 1:1 swap.  Agave is a good choice, or raw sugar.  Date or coconut sugar also works well!
    • Blueberry juice - blueberry juice is pretty easy to find at the grocery store but you can swap it for pomegranate, cranberry, or tart cherry juice.
