This is a fabulous alternative to classic red wine! Finally, a satisfying alcohol-free Red Wine Mocktail that you can easily make at home!

Need a guilt-free Red Wine to take with you to your kids’ softball game? Or on your hot-girl walk? Have NO FEAR, this mocktail is here! And it’s a fantastic option because it looks (and tastes) just like red wine, but without the booze (and hangover).  Double win!

As far as I know, nobody on the internet has attempted to make a Red Wine Mocktail.  My best guess is because there are bottled non-alcoholic wines on the shelves, and because it’s hard to create a room temperature drink that tastes or resembles anything like red wine.

I’m here to tell you that it IS POSSIBLE.  And here’s why you're going to LOVE it:

    • It's nuanced and complex in flavor
    • You can have 2 glasses without the hanxiety
    • It looks pretty in a wine glass, nobody will know you're not drinking "real wine" (unless you tell them!)
    • You can drink this and you won't have an issue driving home

Going alcohol-free has so many postives!

    Ingredients + substitutions

Ingredients labeled that you need to make a red wine mocktail.
    • Passion tea: the flavors in tea add complexity and nuance (something that red wine loves know and love)
    • Pink salt: this drink has a pinch of pink salt, for electrolytes.  Instead of a dehydrating red wine, this hydrating blend won’t leave you with a wine headache! YAYY.
    • Grape Juice: for flavor and a touch of sweetness.
    • Kombucha: it’s hard to find unflavored kombucha, I’ve found that any fruity flavor will do.  Kombucha adds that bit of interest and bitterness that mimics the flavor of red wine.

What kind of wine does this taste like?

It tastes most like a Lambrusco, or Pinot Noir with just a touch of sparkle (from the Kombucha).  By no means is this going to taste just like your favorite merlot, but it will make you feel like you’re drinking a real red.

As a matter of option - it’s WAY better than the de-alcoholized reds that I’ve tried!

What to pair non-alcoholic red wine with?

There are many instances where you have a fabulous dinner that would pair well with red wine, but you’re not consuming alcohol, for whatever reason.  But you still want flavorful notes to go with dinner, a red wine mocktail, such as this one, makes a great choice.
I’d personally pair it with anything that you’d pair a classic red with, such as this Steak and Potatoes with Mustard Sauce, or this Bourbon Maple Chicken.
