MULTIPURPOSE UMAMI SEASONING BLEND - LET'S TALK ABOUT THAT
Trader Joe’s is the best. I can’t live without their Everything Bagel Seasoning and now that I’ve discovered their Mushroom + Company Multipurpose Umami Seasoning Blend, I keep it stocked in my pantry at all times right next to the Everything Bagel Seasoning.
If you don’t live near a Trader Joe’s (I don’t), you can get it right here on Amazon.
At first, I wasn’t sure what I’d do with this seasoning. It has a little spice, a deep mushroom flavor, and the perfect amount of saltiness/"umami". Of course, it works extremely well in dishes that need that extra “umami” kick, like vegan soups. But I’ve found a ton of ways to use this blend and I can’t wait to share them with you.
For Thanksgiving this year, I’m going to be making this quick, vegan gravy. It's dangerously fast and easy to whip up, there’s no chopping of vegetables, blending, or the making of a slurry. You’re just going to combine everything into a pan, whisk and wait for it to get thick and bubbly.
This gravy works insanely well with mashed red potatoes, with biscuits, or even as a base for a vegetable pot pie.
