Ingredients
Broccolini 1 bunch
2tbspolive oilextra virgin
1tsplemon juicereserve the rest of the lemon for grilling
½tspgarlic powder
½tspkosher salt
½tsporegano
½tsppepperfreshly ground
¼tspred pepper flakes
Instructions
Preheat your grill to 425 degrees Fahrenheit. Clean and oil your grill grate.
Cut the broccolini stems into equal widths.
Drizzle olive oil, lemon juice, and spices over the broccolini and make sure you mix it together well.
Place the broccolini directly onto the preheated grill over indirect heat. for 4-6 minutes on each side.
Finish by placing the broccolini into direct heat in 30 second increments for a bit of a char (totally optional).
Notes
SUBSTITUTIONS AND ADDITIONS Broccolini - you cannot substitute the broccolini for regular broccoli, but you can follow this recipe with asparagus in its place. Parmesan - Technically not a substitution, but you can add some shaved parmesan and take this side dish to the next level. Crumbled bacon - Again, not a substitution, but you can add a few bacon crumbles to the top of this side dish and really elevate it. Storage and reheatingLeftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days. Reheating - you can microwave the broccolini in a tented container with a splash of water for a minute on high. And from there in 30 second increments until it’s warmed through. Or warm it on low heat on the grill or in a pan until it’s warm.
