Vegan Beer Cheese Hummus

Vegan Beer Cheese Hummus, inspired by Brittany Cartwright and Jax's "Meemaw's Beer Cheese" business.

Ingredients

  • 2 15 ounce cans garbanzo beans drained + rinsed or 3 cups prepared garbanzo beans
  • ¾ cup beer use a beer that you like, I used a lager, but you'll taste the beer so don't use a shitty one
  • 3 tbsp tahini
  • 3 tbsp nutritional yeast
  • 1 tbsp cumin
  • 1 tbsp dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp cayenne
  • 2 lemons juiced

Instructions

  • add all ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth

Notes

Storage: feel free to store this for up to a week in an airtight container in the fridge. 
Serving: If you want to serve this warm, I'd just microwave it for 30 seconds or heat in a saucepan until warm. If you heat for too long it will change the flavor profile...
Beer Suggestions: I used a lager because I don't like IPA's.  But if you're an IPA person feel free to use whatever you like.  Just know that you'll taste the beer in the end result so use a beer that you like! ;)
