I was inspired to make this recipe by Brittany Cartwright and Jax Taylor and I’m okay with that.
VEGAN BEER CHEESE HUMMUS
Y’all, I’ve made it no secret whatsoever that I’m a Bravo-head. When I have some time to myself, I find nothing more inspiring, relaxing, and entertaining than watching RHOBH/NY or Vanderpump Rules. Lately, Vanderpump Rules is my favorite.
I’ve eaten at SUR, had a drink from Vanderpump Gardens (Vegas), and just as soon as my husband and I have a kid-free night, we’ll be trying out TomTom! Apparently their buffalo cauliflower wings are bomb. If you can confirm that this is true, please drop a word in my comments or connect with me on Instagram.
I was inspired to try a vegan beer cheese after watching several episodes of Brittany and Jax planning a Meemaw’s Beer Cheese business. Sad, I know. Since listening to Jax weigh the pros and cons of starting a legal business, I’m happy to hear that they’re doing things right and by the book. Meemaw would have it no other way, and neither would I.
Look, all I’m saying is that when Meemaw’s Beer Cheese hits the shelves (any shelves), I’ll be first in line to get this incredible product.
HOW TO MAKE VEGAN BEER CHEESE HUMMUS
Beer cheese hummus, have you ever heard of such a thing? When I pitched the idea to my husband he seemed, underwhelmed. But when I made it, he was a huge fan!
While not as basic as your staple roasted red pepper or garlic hummus, this recipe is a breath of fresh air.
It tastes like beer. It tastes like garlic. And it’s “manly”, whatever that means.
All of the ingredients can be thrown into a blender (and I hope that you’re planning to make this for the VPR premier).
If you would like to serve this hummus hot, feel free to throw it into the microwave or heat in up in a pan for a few minutes. This will change the flavor slightly, but not much.
THE ONLY WORD OF CAUTION: I made this hummus with raw garbanzo beans, not canned. If you are making this recipe with canned garbanzo beans, adjust your salt accordingly (read: you’ll want to add some/a lot). Most canned beans are rather heavily salted. Just adjust the salt to your preference, and make the recipe in its entirety before salting to taste.
YOU’RE GOING TO LOVE BEER CHEESE HUMMUS BECAUSE:
…Because how could you not?
It’s sooooooo “BEAR CHEEZE” (in a Brittany Cartwright accent).
- Ever so slightly healthy
- + Damn delicious.
